Here’s how you can be part of the solution

Connect. Serve. Grow.

I’m a fan of taking action and building relationships. Every day I’m meeting new people and connecting the dots. We are such an intertwined community that I can’t help but have a positive outlook for all of us. Even amidst the challenges we face. Our campaign is focused on connecting what may be disconnected, taking action on what is in front of us, and growing through knowledge and relationships.

If you want to be part of my campaign, here’s what I ask you to do.

First and foremost, I need your help connecting with people. Although I’m from Kaua’i and lived here for 23 years, yet there are communities and families I have never met. As a future council-member it is imperative for me to be connected with all areas of our community. It’s a tough task but it’s needed for the benefit of everyone.

I have a simple ask, can you connect me with your network of family and friends? It’s as simple as sharing my website or a group text. Maybe it’s an email to them with me included. It’s a simple introduction, “Hey, this is Dr. Addison and he’s campaigning for council. He wants to get to know you.”

Secondly, the work is collective and it only gets done by doing. While I love to research, plan, and rally people together. I also love to get right into it and get going. There are projects all over the island and causes that are in action. I wish I could do it all. If you are around me enough, you see me try to!

My second ask is simple, jump in the game and let’s go to work. If you are not already involved with a family cause, a non-profit’s mission, a community task, or a county project, please join in! We can’t do it without you. The projects I’m part of are the Business and Musicians Rally hosted by Rice Street Business Association, Downtown Lihue revitlization, and the Hawaii Foodbank - Kauai initiatives. My focus right now is keeping businesses alive and helping us restore our lives.

Lastly, let’s grow together. Everyday we have an opportunity to learn, aspire, and build a better life for all. The challenges in front and ahead of us are only momentary. It’s nothing we can’t over come together. With a little Aloha, anything is possible. As a future council-member it’s the utmost importance that we focus on gathering knowledge and creating understanding.

My last ask is this, seek knowledge and understanding. Now more than ever, we have access to information and resources that use to be hard to get. Our ability to make informed decisions relies on our curiosity for knowledge and our openness for dialogue. Engage your heart and brain with thoughtful information that moves us towards a kind, caring, and prosperous world.

Sincerely,
